Pineda
From: Joe Dudash' Ze, Director
RE: Bowie No. 2 Permit No. C-1996-083, Bowie Resources LLC
Permit Revision No. 12, West Mine Expansion, Request for Assistance
In a submittal dated November 5, 2010, Bowie Resources LLC (BRL) has provided responses to the
Division's adequacy review letter dated August 2, 2010 for PR-12. I am requesting your assistance in
the review of BRL's responses.
The adequacy responses mainly deal with the Division's questions concerning ground water.
Therefore, I am requesting that Mike review those responses.
However, BRL also changed the longwall panel orientation in the proposed western district from east-
west to north-south. It appears that the trace of the subsidence zone doesn't change much from the
original subsidence zone trace but I am still requesting that Marcia and Kent review the new mine plan
for adequacy.
I asked Jim Stover to mail copies of BRL's latest responses to Mike and Marcia. I have a copy for
Kent and myself to review here in the Denver office.
BRL has requested that the Division publish the decision public notice on November 24 so I would
appreciate comments back by Wednesday, November 17 or earlier, if at all possible.
If you need additional information or more time, please let me know. Thanks for your help.
cc: Sandy Brown
Dan Hernandez
c: /word2007/bowie2/pr 12memo4
Office of Office of
Mined 1-and Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
