horned owls, mule deer, white-tailed deer, badgers, and coyotes. There are no
known threatened or endangered species.
EXHIBIT C - Mining Plan
a) The mining has been occurring since 1982 on a limited, as needed, basis. The
operation will provide material for construction projects and road building in
the area. Anticipated life of the pit is through 2025 as indicated in the original
application.
b) The mining plan is to begin removal of the material beginning at the southeast
portion of the pit area and proceed west and north. Excavation will continue
as the need for material continues and, as the supply remains available. There
is topsoil in the area which averages about 0" to 5" in depth. The pit will have
the topsoil stripped and stockpiled for re-application during reclamation. Any
topsoil stockpile will be seeded with grass to prevent soil erosion. If
overburden exists, it will be stripped and stockpiled for use when reclamation
occurs.
c) There would appear to be no waste rock or material at the site.
d) Mining is anticipated to a depth between 20 and 30 feet, with an average of 20
feet. The mining plan is to begin at the northwest corner of the pit and
proceed southeast. No slopes will be left greater than 3:1.
e) The pit will be accessed from County Road 23 and an existing driveway into
the property. The driveway will be left in place at the end of the operation for
use by the landowner. There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities located
at the mine site. The equipment which may be used to mine the gravel will be
a front-end loader, dozer, and trucks. Some stockpiling of material may be
done at the site, but most of the material will be utilized as it is mined. The
anticipated stockpile area is shown on the mining plan. No processing of
material is anticipated.
f) There are no existing disturbances to describe at the site.
g) The driveway to the pit is approximately 75' in length and 10 feet wide. The
driveway will be used for the life of the pit and then left for the landowners to
use in their farming operation.
h) No water is anticipated in conjunction with the operation. There could be
instances when heavy rainfall makes the site too muddy to continue. At those
