Again I have lived in this
community for 39 years and there is no place better! I am also a proud member of the UMWA (United Mine Workers of
America) and am also very proud to say I work for Western Fuels Colorado. We have got to keep what industry we already
have and bring in more as the pay scale in this area is mostly minimum wage jobs at best. We need more industry and
that's all there is to it.
I have worked for Western Fuels since 2000. 1 have never worked for a company that takes more pride in the area and
what the end results are. The fields that have been reclaimed and are now being farmed are among the best I've ever
seen. This company also takes pride in the safety of it's employees and care about their family's. Western Fuels has
donated thousands of dollars to the community and the youth programs around the area. Without these donations our pee
wee wrestlers would be without singlets. Our cheerleaders would be without uniforms they can be proud to wear. Our
clinic would with without the much needed equipment they now have. They donate items for benefits for members of our
community that is in a bad way and need some help.
Ok now about how me and my daughter depends on Western Fuels. If it wasn't for my job with Western Fuels we would
still be on food stamps and living in that old 1969 single wide with outdated wiring, a leaky roof and sorry insulation. We
would still be depending on the state to help cover the costs of our utilities. We have upgraded our life style as well as our
home. I like to be able to buy things on my own and not have to depend on handouts from the state or whomever is willing
to help. I have raised my 16 year old daughter single handedly and as far as I'm concerned done a great job, but only
because I have a great job! If not for having this job I fear we couldn't afford for her to participate in sports or any other
extracurricular activities the school offers. As being a single Mom and forking out money for these activities are still
sometimes a strain on the budget.
So in closing I strongly and I mean very strongly urge you to let us continue mining on the Morgan property. I loose this
job and we will loose our home and our lifestyle. Granted our life style is nothing glamorous but we love it!
Sincerely,
Tanya and Harley Narramore
