GCC Dacotah distributes its
cement in nine states in the U.S.
through its network of distribution
terminals located in Sioux Falls and
Watertown, South Dakota, Casper,
Wyoming, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and
Denver Colorado
Distribution
by product
GCC achieved a reduction
in the heat consumption
for the production process
at the plants of Rapid City,
South Dakota and Tijeras,
New Mexico
Cement sales in the United States represented 90% of the
division's total sales. The remaining are revenues from ready-
mix concrete operations.
To meet the cement requirements of the U.S. markets where
the company participates, almost 500,000 metric tons of this
product were exported from the Samalayuca plant, mainly to
El Paso, Texas and the southern region of New Mexico.
GCC formed a specialized team with members selected
from both the U.S. and the Mexican divisions in order to find
opportunity areas that allowed the improvement of efficiency
in the GCC Dacotah processes. This resulted in an
unprecedented level of cement production, totaling 936,000
metric tons of cement in the Rapid City, South Dakota plant.
