The total Lined Areas equal 123.75 acres.
These Lined Areas intercept and contain naturally occurring precipitation. Accordingly,
the existence of these Lined Areas may cause injury to other water users on Fourmile
Creek and/or the Arkansas River unless replacement water is provided. This SWSP
includes the replacement water requirements based on the maximum existing and
presently planned operations for the MLE and provides for annual monitoring of the size
of the lined areas. The specific lined areas planned for the MLE are shown on Exhibit B
and listed below.
Table 1
CM Phase 5
Lined Areas and Tributary Basin
/acrael

Area Description
Total
Area Fourmile Creek
(Outside the
Diatreme Area in
Are qua Gulch * Fourmile Creek
(Inside the
Diatreme Area)
Valle Leach Facility Phase 5 122.30 87.30 35.0
Fresh Water Pond at Fuel
Island 0.12 0.12
New Crusher Pond 1.14 1.14
AK Drilling Containment Cell 0.06 0.06
Buckle Containment Cell 0.10 0.10
Ames Containment Cell 0.03 0.03
Totals 123.75 87.30 36.45
Percent of Total 70.5% 29.5%
"There are no depletions to the beaver C:reeK aralnage oasin associatea wan Linea Areas tnat are iocatea
outside of the diatreme in this application.
All of the Lined Areas in this plan are tributary to Fourmile Creek. The areas within the
diatreme (29.5 percent of the total Lined Areas) drain to the regional groundwater
system that is intersected by the Carlton Tunnel and flows to Fourmile Creek. As shown
in Table 1 above, the remaining 70.5 percent of the Lined Areas are located outside of
the diatreme and are tributary to Fourmile Creek through Arequa Gulch. The
replacement requirements and location are discussed in Section 3.4, below.
3.2. Capture of Precipitation on VLF.
