(3) Full suite laboratory analysis (February, May, August, and November on quarterly schedule), if there
is a measurable discharging for all NPDES Outfalls
(4) Measure water conductivity, PH, temperature, oil/grease, and flow /depth. Have full suite laboratory
' analysis (February and August for Semi - Annual schedule) for listed surface monitoring stations.
(5) Measure monthly water depth for groundwater monitoring wells (GW's).
(6) Measure water conductivity, PH, temperature, and depth. Have full suite laboratory analysis using
the Ground Water Parameters on following list (February, May, August, and November)
Surface Water Monitoring_ New Horizon 2 Mine The total number of surface water sampling
locations is five. Calamity Draw contains two stations, Tuttle Draw has two stations and West
Lateral has one station.
' Stations SW -N102 is located on a tributary of Calamity draw and will remain as a monitoring point
for water leaving Pond 007. This will also act as the NPDES 007 discharge monitoring point for
' Pond 007. The two stations, SW -N103 and SW -N108 are also located on Calamity Draw. The
upstream station, SW -N108 is located just west of Lincoln Street as it flows from under the road.
This station will define water quality and quantity before it enters the area potentially influenced by
t the mine. SW -N103 is located on Calamity Draw west of the mine permit boundary and near
County Rd CC. This station will define all the water quality of Calamity Draw that is down gradient
of the active mine. Station SW -N101 was dropped from the monitoring program in the Calamity
draw as Station SWA 08 replaced its function.
' Surface station SW -N 104 monitors the flow and water quality of the West Lateral Ditch as it enters
the area upstream of the mine permit. To more accurately reflect the water quality immediately
upstream of the mine, the sample site has been moved from its original location within the Town
of Nucla to the 26" HDPE inlet structure located at the mine property boundary. Monitoring of the
1 CCC West Lateral Ditch downstream of the mine property at site SW -N105 has been discontinued
since the installation of the HDPE pipelines mentioned above in West Lateral Irrigation Ditch -
' Flow and Water Quality section eliminates the possibility any mine water interacting with ditch
water. Map 2.04.7 -1A shows the new location of SW -N104.
Flow quantities, pH, temperature, and conductivity measurements will be taken at all monitoring
locations that have a recordable flow to assess potential impacts of the mine and to fulfill the
t requirements for the water augmentation plan. Water quality parameters listed in Table 2.04.7 -2
will be collected as follows; quarterly basis for all discharging NPDES Outfalls (SW-102), semi-
annual basis for stations SW -N103, SW -N104, SW-N108, SW-N1 and SW-N3. All NPDES mine
- 2.04.7 -51
