October 18, 2010 C-1981-044/Williams Fork Mines KAG
Reve eta
The Russian knapweed infestation at this site is a significant problem. This noxious, list A species is present in
many areas of both disturbed and undisturbed ground at this site. Aggressive and repeated measures are necessary
to control the continued spread of this species. Whatever efforts have been done is the past have not been
effective for reasons unknown. To avoid future enforcement action, the operator should immediately develop and
implement an improved weed control plan to reduce the abundance of noxious weeds at this idled mine facility.
Signs and Markers
The entry signs, stream buffer signs, and topsoil pile markers are all in various states of disrepair and/or display
inaccurate information. Disturbed area markers are minimal at best. The operator should immediately address all
markers at this site and bring them into compliance with Rule 4.02 throughout the site.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 3 of 5
