The resulting pseudo-static condition
safety factors of 1.21 and 1.37, for wet mining and dewatered conditions respectively,
are above the SEO minimum requirement of 1.0 for an embankment subject to
earthquake loading. The proposed interim minimum setback for mining of 120 feet from
the final mining limit (170 feet from the south property line) is satisfactory.
Case 2A - The resulting static condition safety factors of 1.45 and 1.51, for wet mining
and dewatered conditions respectively are above the SEO minimum requirement of
1.25 for an embankment during construction.
