These
revisions are based upon TMI responses dated October 5, 2010. The cover page of the revised cost estimate, entitled
Cost Differences - PR-06 vs. 2010 Midterm Review, identifies the changes in costs and hours for equipment
associated with tasks required to fully reclaim the site. The revised cost estimate is $29,276,956.00. The previous
estimate (prior to these revisions) was $31,127,989.00.
The Division revised the reclamation cost estimate for Task 025 (K-Pit truck/loader costs) to reflect the change from
bank cubic yards to loose cubic yards. Trapper staff is correct in asserting that the material used to regrade the K-Pit
will have been previously moved and will have experienced swell. This updated estimate total for Task 025 is
$7,274,805. This estimate for Task 025 is $1,818,701 lower than the initial 2010 Midterm cost estimate due to a
reduction in hours of 1,570.36.
The costs for anticipated revegetation failure (included in Tasks 100 - 109) have been revised to reflect 17.5%
failure rather than the previously used 20% failure rate. This update is based on the approved permit (Table 1.4-10,
page 1-54) and correspondence between the Division and TMI staff. This revision reduces revegetation costs by
$32,332.
Please call me (x8113) or Jason Musick (x8134) at (303) 866-3567 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
?vti/!
