INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO.- ROB ZUBER
FROM: JASON MUSIQC?
SUBJECT: G 1981-010 TRAPPER MINE 2010 MIDTERM REVIEW QOST ESTIMATE RESPONSES
DATE: 10/22/2010
Attached is the reclamation cost estimate revisions for the 2010 Trapper Mine Midterm Review based on
concerns brought forth by TMI. The Division revised the reclamation cost estimate for Task 025-K-Pit
Regrade Truck/Loader with costs reflecting Loose Cubic Yards rather than Bank Cubic Yards delineated
in the initial 2010 Midterm Cost Estimate. Trapper is correct in identifying that the material used to
regrade the K-Pit will have been previously moved and experienced swell. This updated estimate total
for Task 025 is $7,274,805.00. This estimate is $1,818,701.00 lower than the initial 2010 Midterm Cost
estimate due to a change in hours of 1570.36.
The costs for anticipated revegetation failure have been revised to reflect 17.5% rather than the previous
20%. This update is based on correspondence between the Division and TMI and the approved permit.
The cover page entitled Cost Differences - PR-06 vs. 2010 Midterm Review, identifies the changes in
costs and hours for equipment associated with tasks required to fully reclaim the site. The truck/loader
fleet has been revised to reflect the above referenced change and the increase of revegetation costs due to
the 17.5% revegetation failure costs make up the majority of changes. The truck/loader costs represent
the utilization of a loader rather than a shovel as estimated in the PR06. The revegetation costs represent
an increase in the cost for seed and the addition of a 17.5% estimated failure rate that was not included in
the PR06 estimate.
