For the
loadout, the determination was based on the loadout's lack of
deep excavations and the lack of activities that could
generate leachate or toxic substances. (The majority of the
mine portion of the permit area has achieved final bond
release. Ground water monitoring in that area ceased in
2007, following approval of TR-23.)
L. Basic Standards CWQCC
for Ground Water regulations yes Mean 2009 concentrations of dissolved Manganese (Mn)
41.4 and 41.5 were slightly elevated in both alluvial wells at the loadout,
AP-1 and AP-2. The mean 2009 concentration for dissolved
Potassium (K) was elevated in AP-2. However, the
Agricultural Standards in Regulation 41 were not exceeded
as there is no standard for K, and the standard for Mn, 0.2
mg/L, is only applicable in waters applied to acidic soils.
Furthermore, the loadout lacks deep excavations and
activities that could generate leachate or toxic substances,
and it is unlikely that the elevated concentrations are mining
related.
M.
