17.) Affected acres may be a total of +/- 93.25 acres, however mining and reclamation
will be carried out in stages no larger than 46 Acres. Please see attached mining map.
18.) Proposed hours of operation are from Sunrise to Sunset Monday- Saturday every
week, year round.
19.) Estimated life of operation is difficult to forecast, however we believe this mine will
have an economic Life of 20 to 40 years depending on the local market conditions.
20.) Main shift employees will be between 3 to 10 people depending upon the time of the
year and the number of orders that are to be filled.
21.) The proposed haul route would be out of the mine site on Pickney Road CR 343
then to Thacker Road to Interstate 25. the distance is approximately six (6) miles. A
map of haul route is provided.
22.) The number of vehicle trips per day would be on average of 16 to 20. A trip is
defined in this application follows : "A vehicle leaving the pit and then returning counts
as two trips. Thus if the operator has 4 trucks hauling making 2 round trips per day that
would be 8 loads out and 8 return trips to be loaded. The total trips would then be 16."
23.) Hours of hauling would depend upon the time of the year, however it would
normally start around 6:00 A.M. and run to approximately 6:00 P.M. during operation.
24.) Dust control will be accomplished with water trucks on the haul road and the
processing plant site.
25.) Proof of Water:
a. Bottled water will be brought in for drinking water.
b. Water for the use of dust control will be purchased water form an approved
source such as the Colorado City Metropolitan District or some other legal
purveyor.
26.) Portable - temporary toilet will be provided for the employees use.
The proposed mine will be reclaimed to be harmonious with the environment as it is today. The
applicant has an existing 110c Reclamation Permit with the State of Colorado, thru the Mined Land
Reclamation Board (MLRB) Permit, enforced by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.
This request is to add additional acreage to the existing Permit Area. The applicant is applying for a
conversation from an 110c to an 112c permit with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.
Mining has been ongoing on this property since 1967 and was formally permitted in 1977 when the
"Reclamation ACT' was passed into law in the State of Colorado. This Pit is fully permitted by all
the other required agencies. This active commercial operation needs to expand its land area. In
accordance with MLRB Reclamation requirements, the operator will have to increase the
Reclamation Financial Warranty with the State of Colorado to insure reclamation will be carried
out.
Since ,
Joe Gaglia o
Consultant
cc: file
