SUP No 1999-002
September 13, 1999
Page 19
PARKING REQUIREMENTS
An 'Off-Street Parking Plan meeting the standards of Section 30 of the Zoning
Resolution "(refer to 30(k) for plan detail) will need to be submitted, epproved, and
implemented prior to authorization for a Certificate of Occupancy.
SECTION 30 - OFF-STREET PARKING STANDARDS
(a) PURPOSE. These standards are designed to lessen congestion in the streets,
by requiring the owners and operators. of land, structures and uses to provide off-
street parking for their residents, employees, customers clients, patients, and
other visitors. ` :However, nothing in these regulations shall be deemed to deprive
such owners or operators of the right to maintain control overall such land and
structures. The off-street parking requirements herein contained shall apply to
the following activities which occur after the enactment of these regulations:
newly constructed buildings and newly established land uses;
• existing buildings which are expanded by an addition thereto;
• change in land use which generates a need for an increase in the required
minimum of off-street parking spaces set forth in,(b) below; and
• expansion of a land use which generates a need for an increase in the required
minimum of off-street parking spaces as set forth. in (b) below.
The regulations in this section shall apply to all parking spaces, lots, garages, buildings
or portions thereof to be provided in. meeting the requirements of this Zoning
Resolution.
(b) SPACES REQUIRED
1. The folJowina are the minimum required off-street parking spaces. The
owners and operators are encouraged to research the parking needs of
the same or similar uses they intend for the land and building to insure
sufficient off-street parking. _
Based upon the information contained in the application materials, it
appears the facility will require approximately 90-120 full-time employees
over three shifts of operation. Parking for Industrial land uses and
manufacturing facilities is calculated according to 1. space per 2 main-shift
employees. The applicant indicated the main-shift workforce will consist
of 60 employees thus the facility will require a minimum of 30 spaces
including 2 handicapped spaces (of which 1 must be van accessible).
