Resource Description: The Edson ditch consists of a diversion structure, a headgate, and a 1.5 mile ditch. The ditch <br />Measures 20 ft wide at the top, 5 ft wide at the bottom, and 15-20 ft deep. The ditch was originally owned by Eastly D <br />Edson In 1867, and is currently still in use by one ranch outside Pueblo. <br />7. Original Use: Irrigation <br />Current Use: Irrigation <br />8. Modifications (describe): Updated equipment: screw-type gate. <br />9. Extent of Resource: Extends roughly 3,500 feet east-west through the project area <br />10. Associated Artifacts: None <br />11. Associated Features or Resources: A concrete weir extends across the St. Charles River and serves to divert water to a <br />Small diversion channel. The channel diverts water to a contemporary screw-type gate housed in a structure made from <br />Stacked courses of limestone encased in cement.
