Resource Description: This segment of the railroad is an active double track that is jointly operated by Union <br />Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. The Eastern track is historically operated by Colorado and Southern <br />railroad. The track runs about 1 % mile through the northwest portion of the project area. A concrete filled <br />double arch bridge crosses the St.Charles river. The original single track line runs for'/. mile along the proposed access <br />road. <br />7. Original Use: Railroad <br />Railroad <br />8. Modifications (describe): In 1911, the Colorado and Southern track was upgraded to a double track. <br />9. Extent of Resource: Alignment crosses through 1 '/4 miles of the northwest portion of the proposed project area <br />and is crossed by the proposed access road. <br />10.
