Resource Description: The site consists of the remnants of a siphon and segments of the Donnelly floodwater ditch. <br />The ditch is 20ft wide at the top, 4 ft at the bottom, and about 10 ft deep. In two places, the ditch has been graded through <br />To facilitate a two-track crossing. The ditch extends to the west under the railroads by way of a concrete box culvert that <br />Has been burried on the east side and ends just after the railroad crossing. The ditch stops at the Huerfano River. <br />7. Original Use: Floodwater control ditch <br />Current Use: Abandoned <br />5PE1915.2 <br />8. Modifications (describe): The ditch was graded through in two locations for a two-track crossing. <br />9. Extent of Resource: Extends east-west through the project area <br />10. Associated Artifacts: None <br />11. Associated Features or Resources: Two concrete abutments for a siphon across an arroyo were located within the <br />Proposed quarry to the west of the proposed access road. These were made from staked limestone and poured-in-place <br />Concrete. They are about 20 ft wide, 15 ft lone, and 10 ft high. They are in fair condition, bit the siphon pipe has been <br />Removed.
