Record of: Entire Resource Segment X <br />11. RESOURCE DESCRIPTION <br />5. Resource Type: Road Railroad X Ditch/Canal Trail <br />Other (specify): <br />6. Resource Description: This segment of the railroad is an active double track that is jointly operated by Union <br />Pacfic and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. The western track is historically operated by the Denver and Rio <br />Grande. The track runs about 1 '/, mile through the northwest portion of the project area. A concrete filled. <br />double arch bridge crosses the St Charles river. The original single track line runs for % mile along the proposed access <br />road. <br />7. Original Use: Railroad <br />Current Use: Railroad/small abandoned segment <br />8. Modifications (describe): In 1911, the Denver and Rio Grande front range track was upgraded from <br />Single track to a double track. <br />9. Extent of Resource: Alignment crosses through 1-1/4 miles of the northwest portion of the proposed project <br />area and is crossed by the proposed access road. <br />10.
