Historical/Archival Data: Work on the Denver and Rio Grande railroad began in 1871, and the tracks reached <br />Pueblo on June 19, 1872. The line went south from Pueblo and reached Walsenburg on February 22, 1876, and <br />' Trinidad on April 6, 1876.
