(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1981-191
INSPECTION DATE: ]n.jnr5/1n INSPECTORS INITIALS: RK
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring construction A monitoring inspection of the site as
part of sites to be inspected during the fiscal years 2010 & 2010.
Site is a small 9.9 acre sand and gravel operation located approximately 25 miles east of
Colorado Springs. Since the site was transferred from Mr. Hale to Pioneer in 2005, no
mining has been conducted by Pioneer.
All the disturbance of approximately 1.5 acres was done by the previous operator. The
only activity by pioneer was limited to area already affected. Activity included some
minor grading, road maintenance and weed control.
The entire permit area is fenced but there was no permit sign posted at the access to the
property.
When the site was inspected in 2006, there were no problems identified. However, if
Pioneer plans to commence mining operation the Division will need to be notified in
writing with the proposed mining plan. As it stands the current warranty of $3,750.00 is
deemed adequate to cover the current disturbance, if the activity increase it will not be
adequate. It is important for Pioneer to submit a written plan as to their
future plans prior to affecting additional acres. If there are no plans to start
operation in the near future the Division recommends Pioneer submit a revision to have
the site from active status to temporary cessation status.
The current pit slopes have been cut to approximate 2:1 or gentler and all the drainage
from the pit area is captured with in the pit. Fresh grading of slopes was noted along
the south facing slopes, with a small amount of processed material.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: MR MIKE AUSBURN
OPERATOR: POINEER SAND
STREET: P_0-BOX 7650
CITY/STATE/ZIP: COI ORDAO SPRINGS.
