(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1977-365
INSPECTION DATE: 21 SPpt 2010 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: DR2_
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine inspection conducted by David Bird of DRMS. The Operator was contacted but did not attend
the inspection. The site is located about nine miles east of Hartsel, and immediately east of the Chaparral
Meadows General Store alongside County Road 92. The commodity of interest is sand and gravel. The total
permit area is 4.0 acres, and the post-mining land use is described as rangeland. No bond is held as the operator
is a government entity.
This site has been in reclamation for several years and is nearly ready for release. The only issue that needs to be
resolved before release is some augmentation of the revegetation. The revegetation has not become established to
the level that the Division would approve for release. The vegetative cover over the disturbed area appears to be
only about 50-75 percent, whereas on the surrounding natural areas the vegetative cover appears to be about 90
percent.
The Division recommends that the operator conduct an additional application of revegetation, perhaps
accompanied by some form of enhancement such as mulching. After the augmented revegetation has become
established to the desired cover, the Operator can request release.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: David Kintz
OPERATOR: Park County
STREET: P.O.
