Case Narrative
Analytica Environmental Laboratories, Inc.
Work Order: B1009086
Samples were prepared and analyzed according to EPA or equivalent methods outlined in the
following references:
Methods for the Determination of Metals in Environmental Samples, EPA/600/R-94/111, May
1994.
SAMPLE RECEIPT:
One (1) sample was received on 9/14/2010 at 10:30:00 AM at a temperature of 5.9°C at
Analytica-Thornton. The sample was received in good condition and in order per chain of
custody.
Comments:
Sample was received out of method specified holding time for anions. Client authorized
analyzing the sample out of hold for anions.
REVIEW FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ANALYTICA QA PLAN
A summary of our review is shown below, organized by test:
Test Method: 200. 7 - Metals by ICP - Dissolved Metals - Drinking Water
HOLDING TIMES:
Holding times were met for this test.
SAMPLE PREPARATION ISSUES AND OBSERVATIONS:
There were no unusual observations.
INSTRUMENT PERFORMANCE CHECKS:
Instrument checks were within method criteria.
INITIAL CALIBRATIONS:
Initial calibrations were within method criteria.
OPENING CONTINUING CALIBRATIONS:
Opening continuing calibrations were within method criteria.
CLOSING CONTINUING CALIBRATIONS:
Closing continuing calibrations were within method criteria or not applicable.
METHOD BLANK OUTLIERS:
There are no method blank outliers.
LCS OUTLIERS:
There are no LCS outliers.
MS/MSD and DUP OUTLIERS:
There are no MS/MSD or DUP outliers.
Test Method: 200. 7 - Metals by ICP - Total - Drinking Water
Note that for sodium the dissolved result is numerically larger than is the total result.
Sodium shows a relative percent difference between the two values that is less than 20%,
indicating that the numbers cannot be considered significantly different.
