May Day and Idaho Mine Complex 112 (d) Permit Application <br />(1) With a final land use of recreation, matching the surrounding landscape in topography is the <br />best practice. Therefore, final grading topography is planned to match the surrounding land- <br />scape. <br />(2) Mill tailings will be disposed of in underground workings as described in the Environmental <br />Protection Plan (Exhibit T). Run of mine rock will be placed underground or adjacent to ex- <br />isting benches as identified in Figure C -4 (Exhibit Q. Due to the nature and placement of <br />this material, it will be stable without additional compaction (Section 6.5(2) in Exhibit 6.5). <br />Stability will be maintained and Best Management Practices (detailed in Exhibit 6.5) put in <br />place to prevent toxic or acid - forming materials migrating offsite. <br />(3) All grading will be done in a manner to control erosion and siltation of the affected lands, and <br />to protect areas outside the affected land from slides and other damage (Exhibit T, Attach- <br />ment T -4 Storm Water Management Plan). <br />(4) All backfilling and grading will be completed as soon as feasible after the mining operation <br />has ceased as presented below in Section 6.4.5(2)(e)(i). <br />(5) Wildcat will handle and dispose of all refuse and mined material in a manner to control un- <br />sightliness in accordance with Exhibit D and Exhibit T while protecting the drainage system <br />from pollution (Exhibit T, Attachment T -4). <br />(6) All drill or auger holes that are part of the mining operation will be plugged with non- <br />combustible material as outlined in the exploration plan (Exhibit D) to prevent harmful or <br />polluting drainage. Portals will be closed and backfilled and, with their associated benches, <br />graded to match the surrounding topography to the extent possible and will comply with the <br />provisions of the Act, and Mineral Rules and Regulation. <br />(7) Maximum slopes and slope combinations will be compatible with the configuration of sur- <br />rounding topography and recreational land use. No lakes or ponds will remain in reclaimed <br />lands. <br />(8) Final land use is recreational and will not require access for farm machinery. <br />(9) Structural fill material will be generated within the Permit Area. No material from outside of <br />the approved permit area is expected to be needed as structural fill. A Financial Warranty <br />will be maintained at all times adequate to cover the cost to stabilize and cover any exposed <br />backfilled material. <br />(10) Mined material disposed within the affected area will be handled to prevent any unautho- <br />rized release to the surface drainage system as defined in the Environmental Protection Plan <br />(Exhibit T). <br />(11) Methods to prevent unauthorized release to groundwater from any materials mined, handled <br />or disposed of within the permit area are defined in the Environmental Protection Plan (Exhi- <br />bit T). <br />• <br />May Day Idaho Mine Complex 112(d) Permit Application <br />September 21, 2010 <br />0 <br />
