U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office 2465 South Townsend Avenue Montrose, CO 81401 Decision Record (DOI-BLM-CO-S050-2010-0017 EA) DECISION: It is my decision to approve the proposed action as described in DOI-BLM-CO- S050-2010-0017 EA. Design features within the proposed action and all Conditions for Use and mitigation shown in Appendix A of the EA must be followed. RATIONALE: The decision to allow the proposed action does not result in any undue or unnecessary environmental degradation. Design features have been applied to the proposed action, and Conditions for Use and mitigation have been identified; all will mitigate environmental impacts. The Proposed Action does not constitute a major federal action having • significant effect on the human environment; this has been documented in a Finding of No Significant Impact. Best available data was used in the preparation of this EA. An EIS for this project would not, in all likelihood, provide any significant new information. MITIGATION MEASURES: Conditions of Use and mitigation measures presented in Appendix A of the EA will be a condition of the license. COMPLIANCE/ MONITORING: Inspections of operations will be made to ensure compliance with the exploration license and all conditions. The inspections will be designed to monitor environmental effects of the project and to insure that the operator complies with the license stipulations. APPEALS: Within 30 days of receipt of this decision, you have the right of appeal to the Board of Land Appeals, Office of the Secretary, in accordance with the regulations at 43 CFR 4.400. Appeal and stay procedures are outlined in Form CO-1840 (attached).
