PERMIT #: M-1979-058
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: DMC
INSPECTION DATE: September 13, 2010
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS)
normal monitoring program. Photographs are included at the end of this report to illustrate conditions observed
during the inspection.
The Funk and Hooker pit is located approximately 2.5 miles east of Hayden and accessed from Highway 40.
The active mining face appeared to be graded at an approximately 2H:1 V slope. This practice will be beneficial
for final reclamation.
Some of the boundary markers were not in place and this has been noted as a problem above. Pursuant to Rule
3.1.12 the boundaries of the affected area must be marked by monuments or other markers that are clearly
visible and adequately delineate the boundaries.
A diesel fuel tank lacking any secondary containment was observed in the pit area. This has also been noted
above as a problem.
No other problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Heather McLaughlin
Routt County
P.O.
