E. Stover and Associates, on September 13, 2010, the Bureau
of Reclamation does not have any unresolved issues or concerns at this time with TR-68 or PR-12.
Considering that all activity west of Terror Creek will be a minimum of 500 feet below ground surface,
all mining output will not exceed the original permitted amount of five million tons per year, and surface
movement of harvested coal and other mining byproducts will not alter any distribution and/or
transmission methods upon which Reclamation has already agreed, Reclamation does not have further
comment upon the above mentioned proposal unless changes are made to the applications. Furthermore,
Reclamation does not object to the proposed re-orientation of the mining plan, as shown by computer
model at the meeting with Jim Stover on September 13, 2010.
If any additional technical or permit revisions are made in the future, Reclamation would appreciate
notification and the opportunity to review and comment.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions concerning our comments, please
contact Rutheyi Thompson at 970-248-0617 or by email at mrthompson@usbr.gov.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Ozga
" Lands. and Recreation Group Chief `
cc: Ms. Dixie Luke
President
Fire Mountain Canal and Reservoir Co.
PO Box 414
Paonia, CO 81428
United States Department of the Interior
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION
Upper Colorado Region
Western Colorado Area Office
2764 Compass Drive, Suite 106
Grand Junction, CO 81506
