ameO
D) Geomembrane Delivery
1) VLF
Four loads (44 rolls) of 80mil LLDPE single sided textured geomembrane rolls were delivered to
site during the week. The loads were delivered on a flat bed truck in good condition. The rolls
were unloaded using a CAT 950 front-end loader with forks attached. The geomembrane was
placed on three pieces of HDPE pipe, stacked two rolls high. An AMEC field representative
inventoried the geomembrane and was present at all times during unloading of the geomembrane.
E) Geomembrane Exposure
1) VLF
Exposure of the Phase IV geomembrane between stations G22+00 (+/-) and G29+00 (+/-),
approximately 200 feet left of centerline was performed using a John Deere 35D excavator and
three laborers. An AMEC field representative observed the geomembrane exposure constantly.
CQA ACTIVITIES:
SUMMARY:
The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction
activities of the contractor.
AMEC observed structural fill placement within the Phase 5 VLF fill area.
AMEC inspected and approved subgrade prior to SLF placement.
AMEC observed, performed testing, obtained samples, and assisted in the placement of Soil Liner Fill
material within the Phase VLF.
AMEC observed, logged data, and assisted in the installation of geomembrane within the Phase 5 VLF.
AMEC observed and inspected anchor trench construction.
AMEC observed the installation of the low volume solution collection system.
AMEC observed and obtained samples LVSCF placement.
AMEC observed and inventoried geomembrane delivered to site.
Testing Summary
Laboratory testing continued (Particle Size Distribution, Atterberg Limits, Moisture-Density Relations,
Specific Gravity, Permeability, and Point Load testing) for sampled materials.
VLF Weekly Report WE 08.28.10.D
