PUBLIC NOTICE, <br />KERR COAL COMPANY - MARR MINE <br />PERMIT RENEWAL No.6 (RN -06) <br />Kerr Coal Company (Kerr) has filed an application with the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining & <br />Safety (DRMS) for renewal of the Mining and Reclamation Permit for the Marr Mine and the associated <br />Loadout site. Kerr is the former operator and current permittee under Permit No. C -80 -006. Mining <br />ceased in 1993 and the responsibility for reclamation continues for a minimum of 10 years following <br />permanent seeding. The purpose of the renewal is so that Kerr can complete the reclamation activities <br />for another 5 year period or until final bond release is approved. The Loadout site is located <br />just south of Walden near the former Louisiana - Pacific Lumber mill site and adjacent to the Illinois River. <br />The proposed permit renewal covers areas within the Mine and the Loadout permit boundaries as listed <br />below.
