area in the cyanide storage and mixing room within the mill building. This
storage location physically isolates NaCN from contact with any acids or
process waters. Solid NaCN and caustic soda beads are mixed in a 5
percent solution in a 3300 gallon tank within prior to introduction to the
grinding and flotation phases on the mill circuit.
Instant Nokes Reagent and Phosphorous Pentasulfide: Instant Nokes
Reagent is stored in drums at the Nokes building and in a 1500 gallon tank
within the Nokes building. Spillage or leakage of Nokes Reagent is contained by a
recessed concrete sump with a capacity of 8000 gallons.
Conoco Light Oil: Conoco Light Oil is a petroleum reagent used in the
flotation process. It is stored in a 16,000 gallon tank within the Oil Tank
House at the north side of the mill building. This tank is situated within a
concrete vault below grade which can contain the entire 16,000 gallons in
the event of a catastrophic rupture.
Dowfroth 250: Dowfroth 250, a frothing agent used in the flotation
process, is stored in Tank#2 within the Oil Tank House at the north side of
mill building. This tank has a capacity of 16,000 gallons. The Dowfroth
tank is situated within a concrete vault below grade which can contain the
entire 16,000 gallons in the event of a catastrophic rupture.
Pine Oil: Pine oil, a milling frother reagent used in the flotation process, is stored in a
16,000 gallon tank(Tank# 1) located and contained inside the Oil Tank House at the
north side of the mill building. This tank is situated within a concrete vault below grade
which can contain the entire 16,000 gallons in the event of a catastrophic rupture.
Calumet 6100: Calumet 6100 is a petroleum product used in the flotation process
within the mill. It is stored in two 16,000 gallon tanks located and contained inside the
Oil Tank House at the north side of the mill building. This tanks are situated within a
concrete vault below grade which can contain the entire contents in the event of a
catastrophic rupture.
Syntex: Syntex is a frothing agent, similar to common soap, used in the
mill process. Forty (40) barrels of Syntex are stored inside the Moly
Warehouse and 180 barrels are in the reagent storage area at the northeast
end of the mill.
24
