• • <br />Chapter 4-Site-Spec Industrial Stone Water BMPs <br />4.1 FLOW DIVERSION PRACTICES <br />Structures that divert stream flow (such as gutters, drains, sewers, dikes, and graded pavement) <br />are used as BMPs in two ways. First, flow diversion structures, called storm water conveyances, <br />may be used to channel storm water away from industrial areas so that pollutants do not mix with <br />the storm water. Second, they also may be used to carry pollutants directly to a treatment facility. <br />This section briefly describes flow diversion as a BMP for industrial storm water. <br /> <br />4-3
