The site was flown on Friday August 20,
2010 by Harry Ranney of the Division. It was mostly clear with some clouds apparent by the
shadows on the photos. Overall, the site appears to be in good condition. Revegetated areas are
green and the site continues to stabilize.
BACKFILL and GRADING - Rule 4.14
?Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination
4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6:
Earlier in the summer the dragline was dismantled and moved off the mine site. A small dozer is grading
the dragline pad. No other grading work is evident in the photos.
Repairs undertaken with erosion control matting on the steep hillside in the Pond 15 drainage appear to be holding
up generally well. The majority of the hillside looks stable; some downcutting and erosion may be visible in the
main channel; but this will need to be field checked.
The south area where the turf reinforced matting channels and `surge' ponds were constructed in the Pond 16
drainage appear stable, no major erosion is observed in that area. The riprapped channels in the Pond 017
watershed also appear intact.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
?Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,
4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring
4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
All of the sediment ponds and several of the stock ponds contained water. Several of the `surge' ponds in
the south area also have water in them.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 5
