existing configuration of the capped tailing impoundment. The Storke Yard backfill site
allows completion of reclamation preparation and regrading for the area surrounding 7-
Shaft.
(f) Structural concrete and foundation materials will be rubblized to existing grade using rock
hammer equipment. These materials are expected to be less than 3 feet in diameter and
will be backfilled with gravels, clean fill or rubblized asphalt. Placement of cover and
concrete fill will be conducted in layers to minimize the development of unacceptable
voids. Concrete tailing pipe will be handled using one of the following two methods.
Concrete pipe may be rubblizing to 2-foot minus sizing and placed using cover methods
described for concrete foundation materials. Alternatively, concrete pipe may be stood
on end and filled by cover materials such that void spaces will not occur. The asphalt
materials intended for the 7-Shaft area backfill are currently incorporated with other fill
materials as they are relic of 1995 Storke Yard reclamation from the removal of the
Storke Dry parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your review of the Notice information.
