www.bio-geo.com
Comparison to standard. Sample adequacy was not demonstrated in the reference area or in
the reclaimed area. The reclaimed area mean (441.7 lb/acre) exceeds Q (50.6 lb/acre), and at
least 30 samples were taken in each area. Therefore, the two-sample reverse-null test with
Satterthwaite approximations (see Section 2.3, Statistical Methods, procedure #4) was used to
compare the reclaimed area mean to Q. Table 8 shows the values for the t-test. Because tc is
greater than tt, the null hypothesis is rejected, reclaimed area production is shown to exceed Q,
and revegetation is deemed successful for production in the Dryland Pasture reclaimed area for
2008.
4.0 SUMMARY OF CONLUSIONS
For the Irrigated Pasture and Dryland Pasture reclaimed areas, vegetation cover and production
are shown to be successful for purposes of Phase 3 bond release in both 2007 and 2008. 2007
and 2008 are Year 9 and Year 10 of the eligibility period following completion of reclamation
activities.
•
20
