Susan Burgair
August 2, 2010
Page 2
1, On page 2.04.7 -1, the second paragraph under PHC is original pear it text that is included
here for discussion purposes in the PHC revision. The text is very confusing in its
description of the important sampling locations below the Pond 008 outfall. This text should
not be changed Because it is the original PHC text on page -247 of the existing PAP but
some clarification here would be helpful. Please insert an explanation below the 2nd
paragraph under Probable Hydrologic Consequences (page 2.04.7 -1 ) that clearly
explains the location and importance of Sites SS 11 and SSF13. For example, "Pond
008 discharges to Bond Creek which flows into Fish Creek. Site SS 11 is the upstream
sample site on Fish Creek above its confluence with Bond Creek and SS 13 is the
downstream sample site on Fish Creek below the confluence with Bond Creek."
2. Substantial monitoring plan changes were approved for the adjacent P ast and Seneca fl -W
Mines in May 2010. The precise changes to the parameter lists for surface water and
groundwater are now being proposed for the Seneca II Mine. It would be helpful to reference
the Y a t and II -W revisions. In the last sentence of the grid paragraph under Monitoring
Plan please add the following: "...adjacent Seneca 11 -w Mine T - 9 approved May
2010) and Yoast Hine T - '7 approved May 2010).
Let nee know if you have any questions or require additional inf ormation.
C: Sandy Brown
