<br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
<br />Some materials that are chemical - resistant to this product are listed below. If you
<br />want more options, follow the instructions for category E on an EPA chemical
<br />resistance category selections chart.
<br />WPS Uses: Applicators and other handlers who handle this pesticide for
<br />any use covered by the Worker Protection Standard (40 CFR Part 170) – in
<br />general, agricultural -plant uses are covered – must wear:
<br />• Long- sleeved shirt and long pants
<br />• Chemical- resistant gloves such as Barrier Laminate, Nitrile Rubber, Neoprene
<br />°21, Rubber, or Viton
<br />Shoes plus socks
<br />n -WPS Uses: Applicators and other handlers who handle this pesticide
<br />r any use NOT covered by the Worker Protection Standard (40 CFR Part
<br />170)--in general, only agricultural -plant uses are covered by the WPS —must
<br />wear:
<br />• Long- sleeved shirt and long pants
<br />• Shoes plus socks
<br />Follow manufacturer's instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. if no such in-
<br />structions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE
<br />separately from other laundry.
<br />User Safety Recommendations
<br />Users should:
<br />• Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using
<br />the toilet.
<br />• Remove clothing immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly
<br />and put on clean clothing.
<br />FIRST AID
<br />If on sido: Flush skin with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation
<br />persists.
<br />If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician.
<br />ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
<br />This pesticide is toxic to fish. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where
<br />surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark.
<br />Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters.
<br />PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS
<br />Do not use or store near beat or open flame. Do not cut or weld container.

<br />Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons,
<br />either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during
<br />application. For any requirements specific to your state or tribe, consult the agency
<br />responsible for pesticide regulation.
<br />Agricultural Uee Requirements
<br />Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Pro-
<br />tection Standard, 40 CFR part 170. This standard contains requirements for the
<br />protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses,
<br />and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, de-
<br />contamination, notification, and emergency assistance. It also contains specific
<br />instructions and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about per-
<br />sonal protective equipment (PPE) and restricted -entry interval. The requirements
<br />rc
<br />in this box only apply to uses of this product that a covered by the Worker
<br />Protection Standard.
<br />Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry
<br />interval (REI) of 12 hours.
<br />PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted under the Worker
<br />Protection Standard and that involves contact with anything that has been treated,
<br />such as plants, soil, or water, is:
<br />• Coveralls
<br />• Chemical- resistant gloves such as Barrier Laminate, Nitrile Rubber, Neoprene
<br />Rubber, or Viton
<br />• Shoes plus socks
<br />STORAGE AND DISPOS
<br />Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal. Open dumping
<br />is prohibited.
<br />Storage: Store above 28'F or agitate before use.
<br />Pesticide Disposal: Pesticide, spray mixture, or rinse water that cannot be used
<br />according to label instructions must be disposed of according to applicable Federal,
<br />state, or local procedures.
<br />Plastic Container Disposal: Triple rinse (or equivalent). Then offer for recy-
<br />Fling or reconditioning, or ppuncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by
<br />incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities, by burning. If burned,
<br />stay out of smoke.
<br />Metal Container Disposal: Triple rinse (or equivalent). Then offer for recycling reconditioning, conditioning, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by other
<br />procedures approved by state and local authorities.
<br />Container Disposal for Refillable Containers: Replace the dry disconnect cap,
<br />if applicable, and seal all openings which have been opened during use. Return
<br />the empty container to a collection site designated by Dow AgroSciences. If the
<br />container has been damaged and cannot be returned according to the recommended
<br />procedures, contact the Dow AgroSciences Customer Service Center at 1- 800 -258-
<br />1470 to obtain proper handling instructions.
<br />General: Consult Federal, state, or local disposal authorities for approved alter-
<br />native procedures.
<br />GENER INFORMATION
<br />Garlon" 4 herbicide is recommended for the control of unwanted woody plants and
<br />annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in forests, and on non-crop areas including
<br />industrial manufacturing and storage sites, rights -of -way such as electrical power
<br />lines, communication lines, pipelines, roadsides and railroads, fence rows, non-
<br />irrigation ditch banks, and around farm buildings. Use on these sites may include
<br />application to grazed areas as well as establishment and maintenance of wildlife
<br />openings.
<br />General Use Precautions
<br />Agricultural Use Requirements for Forestry Uses: For use of this product
<br />on forestry sites, follow PPE and Reentry restrictions in the Agricultural Use
<br />Requirements section of this label
<br />Use Requirements for Non - cropland Areas: No Worker Protection Standard
<br />worker entry restrictions or worker notification requirements apply when this
<br />product is applied to non - cropland.
<br />In Arizona: The state of Arizona has not approved Garlon 4 for use on plants
<br />grown for commercial production; specifically forests grown for commercial
<br />timber production, or on designated grazing areas.
<br />Chemigodon: Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
<br />Other Precautions:
<br />• When applying this product in tank mix combination, follow all applicable use
<br />directions and precautions on each manufacturer's label.
<br />Do not apply on ditches used to transport irrigation water. Do not apply where
<br />runoff or irrigation water may flow onto agricultural land as injury to crops
<br />may result.
<br />Do not apply this product using mist blowers unless a drift control additive,
<br />high viscosity inverting system, or equivalent is used to control spray drift.
<br />Sprays applied directly to Christmas trees may result in conifer injury. When
<br />treating unwanted vegetation in Christmas tree plantations, care should be taken
<br />to direct sprays away from conifers.
<br />Do not apply Garlon 4 directly to, or otherwise permit it to come into di-
<br />rect contact with grapes, tobacco, vegetable crops, flowers, or other desirable
<br />broadleaf plants and do not permit spray mists containing it to drift onto them.
