Just below the ridge, loss than one-quarter
mile clown the hillside on Fast Roatcap Creek is the Fa~atcap Game Trail
Site (SC1i271) which has at least one identifiable Ute cx~cponent. T}us
is an historic or late prehistoric short-term hunting ca~r~ with slab
lined hearth, wickiup remains and butchering area. It is hallmarked by
Ute ceramics. Fadiocarbon dating results have rust been rec.~eived as of
this writing, so even by possible association, it is still not possible
to venture a date for the activities at the Ridge Site. For the rtac~t
one can only suspect it was a Ute camnrnal drive system.
. •
F
I,
C!'~
r
a~
~-
