HART ENVIRONMENTAL
P.O. Box 1303 Boulder, Colorado 80306 Phone. 303,444.6602
April 16, 2010
Mr. Terry McKee
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Denver Regulatory Office
9307 South Wadsworth Blvd.
Litttleton, CO 80123-6901
Re: Amendment of Nationwide Permit No. 13 for Boulder Creek Bank Stabilization
(Corps File No. NWO-2010-564-DEN)
Dear Terry:
. This letter is written on behalf of my client Mr. Les Williams, who would like to
amend the. above referenced Nationwide Permit No. 13 in order to install concrete rip-rap
along two additional sections of Boulder Creek. The current Corps authorization pertains
to a 200 hundred foot section along the east bank of the creek. In addition, my client
seeks authorization from the Corps to stabilize two additional areas totaling 200 feet, of
the west bank of Boulder Creek, for a total of 400 feet under the above cited Corps File
No.
I have reviewed the Corps March 12, 2007 criteria for Nationwide Permit No. 13
(NWP-13) and believe that the proposed bank stabilization work complies with those
criteria. The proposed work will not exceed an average of one cubic yard of rip-rap, per
running foot of bank, placed below the plane of the ordinary high-water mark of Boulder
Creek.
Enclosed with this letter requesting authorization for bank stabilization under
NWP-13, please find the following:
1. Project description including applicant's information; description of the work
to be done; legal description of project location; directions to the site, and
contact information
2. Aerial photograph, and
3. Two digital images showing the existing condition of the southerly most
section of the west bank to be stabilized.
After you have had an opportunity to review this request, please do not hesitate to
call me at (303) 444-6602 if you have any questions or require any additional information
about the proposed work.
Sincerely,
Michael J. e) Hart
Encl.
cc: Mr. Les Williams, Property Owner
Wahl :J, 0.1;:! 1141
Frru.?rrq?;;%ii .lan.::c;III
1,11:3 U,c 1/611011
l-LITnabon I)C'up
1'unv1111d :.
