(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1978-279
INSPECTION DATE: 5/4/2010
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DMC
This partial inspection was conducted on May 4, 2010 at approximately 9:15 a.m. in response to a request made to
DRMS by Steve Anthony, Garfield County Road and Bridge Vegetation Manager, in order to address a possible problem
with noxious weeds existing at the site.
The Goldman Gravel Pit is a 110c gravel operation located approximately 2.5 miles southwest of Silt, off of County Road
335.
The mine identification sign is adequate and in place (Figure 1).
A significant noxious weed infestation was observed on-site, including Scotch thistle (See photographs included at the
end of this report). The primary areas of concern are near the mine entrance and along the west permit boundary, and
on materials piles. Infested areas should be sprayed for noxious weeds with the appropriate herbicide(s) immediately.
Additionally, it is recommended that the Operator perform efforts annually in the spring and the fall to better control
noxious weeds, and to document these efforts in annual reports submitted to DRMS.
No additional problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Dustin Czapla at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number
(970) 243-6299.
Inspection and Enforcement Contact: Cc:
Fred Frei ?
