4. All Rite Paving and Redi Mix, Inc. will use this new weed spray treatment mix for
the next few years.
Otherwise the site is mostly pastureland with grass and annual weeds. During the
February 17, 2010 inspection DRMS noted Tamarisk (Salt Cedar) on a small section of
the mine area (noted on map). The Division noted the problem (Rule 3.1.10(6)) and
directed submittal and implementation of a Weed Control and Management Plan.
This Weed Control and Management Plan has been developed to address the noxious
weed control issues noted by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.
METHODOLOGY
Areas infested with the identified noxious weed within the permit boundary will be
addressed by initial assessment and spraying. All Rite Paving and Redi Mix, Inc.
proposes to inform DRMS of weed control activities on an annual basis as part of the
permit Annual Report function and requirements.
All Rite Paving and Redi Mix, Inc. envisions this is an annual ongoing process during
each summer to control noxious weeds before they propagate during the season. Specific
management techniques will be developed, implemented and documented using a
practical mix of cultural, mechanical, biological and chemical controls as deemed both
effective and cost effective.
In general the Tamarisk (Salt Cedar) will probably be controlled using herbicides July
through September. If standard measures are not successful in eliminating the weed
control problem within a reasonable amount of time All Rite Paving and Redi Mix, Inc.
may contact DRMS for additional assistance.
