d) Adequate as submitted.
e) Adequate as submitted.
f) DRMS will interpret your "9.18" to mean that the full 9.18 acres permitted will be disturbed. If this is
incorrect, please clarify.
g) Please note that any new roads used to access the pit must be included in the 9.18 acres permitted.
h) Items h) -m) are listed as "NA" in the TR. DRMS will interpret this to mean that no water will be used
on site, no surface or groundwater impacts will result from this operation, no acid or toxic materials will
be exposed, and no material processing will take place on-site. If this is incorrect please clarify as
appropriate.
n) Adequate as submitted.
o) Adequate as submitted.
p) DRMS will interpret "NA" to mean that no explosives will be used on this site.
6.3.4 - Reclamation Plan
(1) Please specify the maximum working area in the permit at any one time.
a) Adequate as submitted.
b) DRMS will interpret your previous statement as submitted to mean that all slopes will be replaced to
3:1 grade or flatter. Please clarify if this is incorrect.
c) i) Adequate as submitted.
ii) What type of soil preparation will be done prior to seeding (chisel plow, etc.)? Will you be using
any fertilizer, and if so, how much per acre and what type?
iii) "brom grass at 61bs/acre" is an insufficient description of seed mix to be used. Please provide a
suitable reclamation seed mix as prescribed by SCS for the area (usually contains western
wheatgrass, bluestem, Indian grass, gramma grass etc,) and describe seed mix to be applied in
pounds of live seed(PLS)/acre for each species.
iv) Adequate as submitted.
v) DRMS will strongly suggest that a mulch (2 tons/acre straw, crimped in) or cover crop (sorghum
or other) of some kind be utilized on freshly seeded areas to prevent wind erosion and retain
moisture for the new grass. Our experience with reclamation revegetation in this part of the state
shows that vegetation will usually fail and require re-planting without it.
vi) DRMS will interpret "NA" to mean that no shrubs/trees will be planted on this site. Please clarify
if this is incorrect.
