5.3 Seed Mix Information <br />Seed Mix #7 has been revised to contain alfalfa for the Irrigated Cropland Triticale is included <br />as a companion crop in Seed Mix #7 for cover in the any year that the seed mix is planted_ The <br />recommended alfalfa varieties have done well in the region (T. Doherty, personal <br />communication. April 1988). This mix is to be applied to all Irrigated Croplands in the fall of <br />Years 1 and 7 Initial seeding of the green manure crop occurs in the Spring of Year 1 <br />Prior to initial planting of seed mix #7, the 1" year for any reclaimed Irrigated Cropland area will <br />utilize the Green Manure Crop Mix, as defined below: <br />Green Manure Crag Mix (Boring of 1 57 year for any reclaimed Irrigated Cropland) <br />Oats at the rate of 75 Ibs per acre <br />Yellow Sweet Clover at the rate of 2 Ibslacre <br />Seed Mix #2 is used at the start of Year 7 to allow renovation of any alfalfa planted field in the <br />fall of Year 7. <br />Se ed Mix #2 - Year 7 Annual Small Grain Ternraorary Crop Mix (Spring planting) <br />Note: Any one, and only one of the 3 species can be planted at the rate shown <br />SpeciesCommon Name Seeding Rate <br />1.
