Box 340
Nucla, CO 81424-0340
August 12, 2010
Subject: Western Fuels-Colorado, LLC
Sandra L. Brown
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
This letter is in support of Western Fuels Mining in the Nucla area.
WsIvIRL)
AUG 16zuiu
Owsw of
? a "'
Where they have mined and reclaimed the land for farming the land has produced more
than it had originally. We feel that the mine has tried hard to reclaim the land and have
done a good job.
We live in an area where our irrigation water sometimes gets very low in the later part of
the summer but the area has been farmed for over 100 years and the farmers have learned
how to manage with what water they have to irrigate with and we feel that they will
continue to manage in the future when the property is turned back to the owners.
Western Fuels has provided jobs for the workers and has helped the economy in the
Nucla area. We would like for them to be able to continue mining in the area.
Sincerely,
David H. Chiles
a-
Sylvia Carleen Chiles
