C-1 9/_ 00s
U 6
Sandra L. Brown
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 RE-COW
Subject: Western Fuel-Colorado, LLC - Permit Revision 6 AUG 14 2010
pivwne,n ai Kocl op.
Ms. Brown Mining ?a¢ly
I have been in the coal mining business for 37 years. The bulk of my time was spent in
Wyoming where I was involved with mining -from permitting to bond release. I have
seen all types of reclamation from good to bad. I have been at New Horizon Mine for
almost 10 years and I have to say that the reclamation here is as good as anywhere and
better than most.
The land that we have mined and returned to production since I have been here is more
productive than it was before. I am very confident that the Morgan property will be more
of the same if we are allowed to continue mining.
Since mining is my livelihood, it behooves me to insure that it is done professionally and
with the utmost respect for the land and the landowners. If the job is done poorly, there
will no longer be jobs.
For these reasons, I encourage you to approve PR06 to allow us to proceed with the
mining and the ultimate return of the land to better condition than we found it.
Sincere ,
Richard Wolne
