Brown
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Subject: Western Fuels-Colorado, LLC - Permit Revision 6
Dear Ms. Brown,
I have been an employee at the New Horizon Mine for 4 years and my wife and I have lived in
the area for more than 40 years. Our family depends on my job and the benefits included for our
livelihood and for the added ability to care for our elderly parents living in the area. The trickledown
effect of each job loss in this area is devastating to the community. Western Fuels does a great job with
our reclamation and have returned the mined land to better producing ground that it was before, doing
so for 17 years now.
I urge approval of PR06 so that mining and reclamation can continue in our community, Morgan
prime farmland and other properties are protected. I have full confidence that Western Fuels will
always do their best for the environment and our community.
Sincerely,
