Permit
CO- 0000213
ATTN: Mr. Andrew Nuehart
Western Fuels Colorado is requesting a change in Wet Testing at the New Horizon
Mine. Currently, Western Fuels is discharging pit water to Outfall 011; it's the only full
time discharging Outfall. Outfall 007 was the only full time discharger due to receiving
pit water and was put on the chronic test schedule while all other Outfalls were acute.
Since the last Permit Renewal in 2007, Outfalls 011 and 013 have been constructed.
Western Fuels requests that chronic testing be moved to Outfalls 011 and 013. One or
both of these Outfalls are to receive pit water as the mine advances. Western Fuels
also requests that Outfall 007 be changed to acute testing due to it seasonal discharge.
If you have any questions or comments please contact me at 970.864.7590, or email
tfry@wfcnucia.org.
Sincerely,
Thomas D.
