' Y Adequacy Review of
Dear Mr. Warneke,
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) has reviewed the application for a technical revision,
TR-31, to the above referenced 112 permit. The purpose of the technical revision is to incorporate a new
horizontal injection and recovery well pair, 1211-I and 12H-R. Also a proposed 4.25 acre well pad and topsoil
location is proposed. A review of the application has revealed a few issues and clarifications to address.
1) Please clarify if an access road is existing and will not need significant improvement or if a new access
road is required. If a new road is proposed please provide a detailed description of the size and provide a
figure that clearly shows the proposed location and dimensions of the access road.
2) Please provide a breakdown of what the proposed reclamation cost for surface reclamation as well as the
plugging and abandonment cost for each well. Be sure to include the cost to reclaim a proposed access
road if one is to be built or significantly upgraded to support the project.
The technical revision cannot be approved until the issues are adequately addressed. Please submit a response to
the issues as soon as possible but no later than August 11, 2010, so the decision date of August 18, 2010 can be
met. If your response, or a written request for an extension of the decision date, is not received by August 11,
2010 then the request for the revision may be denied.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no. 970.241.2042.
Sincerely,
Travis Marshall
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Paul Daggett, BLM White River Field Office
Jerry Daub, Daub and Associates, Inc.
19-1 s
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N O F
RECLAMATION
MINING
SAFETY
STATE OF COLORADO
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Office of
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
