Watterson <br />Twentymile Coal Company <br />29515 Routt County Road #27 <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C-82-056 <br />Second Quarter 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO-0027154, CO- <br />0036684, C0G-850051, CO-0042161, C0G-850054) <br />June 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit C0G073311) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The 2'd quarter 2010 Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 01 <br />August 2010; the reports cover the time period from 01 April 2010 through 30 June 2010. <br />Permit CO-0027154 - Only outfalls 005A/M0N5/005W (Pond D), 003A (Pond B), 008A (Pond G) <br />and 002A (Pond T) discharged during the second quarter 2010. One exceedance was noted for 003A <br />(Pond B) for the 7 day max for total suspended solids (TSS). The permit limit for the 7-day max for <br />TSS is 70 mg/L and the exceedance for that week was 79 mg/L. Outfalls 004A, 007A, 007W, M0N7, <br />and 006A did not discharge during the month noted. <br />Permit CO-0036684 - 0utfall 001A/001W/M0N1 (Site 62) discharged throughout the quarter with no <br />exceedances noted. <br />Permit COG-850051 - Outfall 001/OOW (6MN Pond) discharged one day during the quarter with no <br />exceedances noted. <br />Permit CO-0042161 - 0utfall 002A (sites 300E and 3001) discharged during the quarter. Two <br />exceedances were noted for 002A, the 30-day average for sulfate in June (540mg/L vs. 250mg/L <br />permit limit), and for the pH maximum of 8.5 (8.7 in April). Outfalls 001A/00 IW/M0N1 (site 115) <br />did not discharge during the quarter. <br />Permit COG-073311 - 0utfall 001A (Fish Creek Construction Crossing) discharged during the month <br />of June 2010.
