Mr. Allen Sorenson - August 6, 2010
Page Four
grasses typical for the area, and sporadic low to moderate tree cover. AGC anticipates
deployment of an estimated 32 sprinkler heads (4 banks/lines of 8 heads each) within Zone A.
Zone B is to be positioned within the M 1994-117 permit area at a location immediately to the
south-southeast of the mill building. This is an approximately 100' x 150' surface area
characterized by a combination of former lay-down/yard area and vegetation comprised of
various grasses typical for the area, with non-disturbed low to moderate tree cover. AGC
anticipates deployment of an estimated 24 sprinkler heads (3 banks/lines of 8 heads each)
within Zone B.
Zone C is to be positioned within the M 1994-117 permit area at a location along the
revegetated embankment of the former sub-grade ore stockpile situated about 200 feet
southwest of the mill structure. This represents a strip approximately 50 feet wide extending a
distance of approximately 250 feet along the south/east side of the site access roadway as it
circumnavigates the stockpile feature. The embankment was established as part of a
recontouring/visual aesthetics improvement project carried out in early 2006 by Mount Royale
Ventures, LLC, at which time the strip was seeded. The revegetation success achieved in this
area to date (comprised of native grasses), will be enhanced by application of water in this area.
AGC anticipates deployment of an estimated 24 sprinkler heads (3 banks/lines of 8 heads each)
with a minor degree of coverage overlap along the strip within Zone C.
The land application system is projected to run 10 to 12 hours per day within a given zone.
Application within the given zone will likely be broken down to 3 to 4 hours per bank/line,
progressing through the zone over the course of the workday. Sequential rotation to a new
zone will occur each day, such that application over a given zone will only occur every third day.
AGC has (by attachment) provided the most recent (sampling date June 14, 2010) water quality
sampling results for the tailing pond water and the Cash Mine pool. Based on these analytical
results, land application of the tailing pond water (even when supplemented by or commingled
with Cash Mine dewatering volumes) should not result in adverse effects to localized soils or
shallow groundwater, if present.
Due to the lateness of the year and the seasonality factors that will dictate the degree of
success of this program, AGC respectfully requests an expedited review of the above request
for authorization to proceed. Please note that the duality of this request process (i.e., involving
both DWR and DRMS) requires that any approvals/authorizations that issue from either/both
agency(ies) be consistent with respect to any limiting factors or stipulations that may alter the
proposed action plan. In this regard, if there are any further informational needs, please notify
the undersigned as soon as possible so that AGC can further facilitate the review in a timely
manner.
