On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, ("BRL") following are its responses to
three of the DMRS' comments and concerns. Items 15, 51, 87 and 89 are yet to be resolved.
15. Attached are baseline water monitoring data for springs, springs with ponds, ponds
and streams and ditches.
51. No response at this time.
87. In a letter dated March 22, 2010 the State Historic Preservation Officer noted that a
search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory database indicates that several
cultural resource inventories have been conducted near the proposed (PR-12)
project area and at least three historic properties are located nearby. The sites
include Site 5DT94: the Davis Homestead recorded in 1977, 5DT95: the Morrell
Homestead, recorded in 1977, and 5DT1538: recorded in 2004. It was
recommended that additional data were needed in order to assess their eligibility for
the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
Grand River Institute surveyed the sites in June 2010. The sites were reevaluated
and field evaluated as not eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic
Places and should be given no further consideration. Considering the dilapidated
condition of the sites as detailed in Grand River Institute's report, there should not
be any concern regarding the effects of mining-induced subsidence. Enclosed is
Grand River Institute's report, a table of contents page and amended page 2.04-11.
89. BRL is not aware of any new structures within the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area that
is to be transferred to the Bowie No. 2 Mine.
