• 7 Closure and Post Closure Plans
7.1 Notification of Closure
Adams County and CDPHE will be notified upon completion of the filling activities and
the termination of the operations. A sign will be posted at the gate according to the solid
waste regulations 30 days prior to closure.
7.2 Closure Elevations
The closure elevations are shown on the Site Map in Appendix IV.
7.3 Cover Materials
A minimum of 18 inches of clean soils and 6 inches of top soil will be placed on top of
the fill materials. The cover soils will be capable of sustaining plant growth and conform
to the specifications in the revegetation plan in the DRMS mining permit.
7.4 Revegetation
The fill area will be revegetated with non-irrigated grasses after placing mulch or other
media to assist with plant growth. The revegetation will conform to the revegetation plan
in the DBMS mining permit. Sustained plant growth should be seen within 2-3 years
after revegetation or additional seeding will be done where needed.
7.5 Post-closure Activities
The post-closure activities include maintenance of the side slopes and top surface of the
fill area. Revegetation of the side slopes and top (as appropriate) will be done soon after
the site is filled and cover placement is completed. The vegetation will be monitored to
see that proper plant growth is occurring and is sustainable within 2-3 years. Areas that
do not have sufficient plant growth will have additional revegetation.
7.6 Post-closure Time Period
The post-closure time period is for five years after the closure certification report is
submitted to CDPHE.
AFS Frei-Henderson Inert Fill Page 21 of 23
MOLEN 8v ASSOCIATES, LLC
