Second Quarter Horse Gulch Spoil Fill Inspection Report 2010
Dear Mr. Puls:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the
above referenced report to be in compliance with the following CDRMS regulations:
4.09.1(11)(a) Inspected at least quarterly by a reregistered engineer or other qualified professional
specialist in construction of earth and rockfill embankments under the direction of a
qualified engineer throughout the construction
The certified report covers the second quarter monitoring period from April to June
2010, and the inspections were conducted by a certified engineer.
4.09.1(I1)(b) Provide to the Division a certified report within 2 weeks after each inspection that the
fill has been constructed as specified in the design approved by the Division, The
report shall include a description of any appearances of instability, structural
weakness, and other hazardous conditions.
The inspection was conducted on June 30, 2010, and the report was received by the
Division on July 13, 2010. No instability, structural weakness, or other hazardous
conditions were noted during the June 30 inspection.
No problems or maintenance items were noted during the inspection of the Horse Gulch Excess Spoil
Fill.
Please note that according to Section 4.09.1(11)(a), certified reports are required during the following
construction periods: (1) removal of all organic material and topsoil, (2) placement of underdrain
systems, (3) installation of surface drainage systems, (4) placement and compaction of fill materials,
